1. Introduction
This Subscription Terms document ("Subscription Terms") governs your purchase and use of subscription services offered through the Age of Aeternus mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). These Subscription Terms are incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.
By subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to these Subscription Terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
2. Subscription Plans
Age of Aeternus offers the following subscription tiers:

3. Billing and Renewal
3.1 Billing Cycle
- Monthly subscriptions are billed every 30 days from your initial subscription date
- Annual subscriptions are billed every 365 days from your initial subscription date
- Billing occurs through your platform's payment system (App Store, Google Play, or web payment provider)
3.2 Automatic Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

3.3 Payment Methods
- iOS: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account
- Android: Payment is charged to your Google Play account
- Web: Payment is processed through our secure payment provider (Stripe)
3.4 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we do:

Your options when prices change:
- Price changes take effect at your next renewal date
- You may cancel before the price change takes effect if you do not agree
- Continuing your subscription after the price change constitutes acceptance
- For annual subscribers: If you do not wish to pay the increased price, you may cancel and receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of your current subscription period (see Section 5.3)
3.5 Taxes
Prices displayed may not include applicable taxes. Sales tax, VAT, or other taxes may be added based on your location and will be shown before you complete your purchase.
3.6 Renewal Reminders
If you enable renewal reminders in the app, we may send you a reminder before your subscription renews. These reminders are intended to be transactional/service messages (not targeted behavioral messaging).
Timing: Reminder timing is based on your reminder settings (currently available windows may include 3, 7, or 14 days before renewal). We do not guarantee exact delivery times.
Delivery Method: Reminders may be sent via email to the address associated with your account and/or via in-app notification. It is your responsibility to maintain a current, valid email address.
California Residents: If applicable law requires a renewal reminder for your subscription, we will provide one in the legally required window, which may be in addition to (or instead of) the optional reminders described above.
4. Cancellation
4.0 Easy Cancellation
Canceling your subscription is as easy as signing up.
We believe you should never feel trapped in a subscription. You can cancel at any time through multiple convenient methods—no phone calls required, no retention attempts, no hoops to jump through. Your cancellation will be processed immediately.
4.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device or account settings:
iOS (App Store):
- Open the Settings app on your device
- Tap your name, then tap "Subscriptions"
- Select "Age of Aeternus"
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Android (Google Play):
- Open the Google Play Store app
- Tap your profile icon, then tap "Payments & subscriptions"
- Select "Subscriptions"
- Select "Age of Aeternus"
- Tap "Cancel subscription"
Web:
- Log in to Age of Aeternus
- Navigate to Settings > Account > Manage Subscriptions
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Follow the prompts to confirm
In-App (All Platforms):
- Open Age of Aeternus
- Navigate to Settings > Account > Manage Subscriptions
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
- You will be redirected to the appropriate platform settings
4.2 Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel your subscription:
- You retain access to all subscription features until the end of your current billing period
- Your subscription will not renew after the current period ends
- After your subscription expires, you will revert to the free tier
- Your character data and account remain intact
- You may resubscribe at any time
4.3 Standard Cancellation (No Partial Refunds)
Standard cancellation does not entitle you to a prorated refund for any unused portion of your subscription period. You will continue to have access to subscription features until your current billing period ends.
Exceptions where prorated refunds may apply:
- You cancel due to a price increase you do not accept (see Section 3.4)
- Extended service outages affecting core subscription features (more than 72 consecutive hours)
- We terminate your subscription without cause
- Required by applicable law in your jurisdiction
5. Refunds
Refund policies vary by platform:
5.1 iOS (App Store)

Apple makes the final decision on all App Store refund requests.
5.2 Android (Google Play)

5.3 Web Subscriptions

Prorated refunds after 30 days are available when:
- You cancel due to a price increase you do not accept
- Extended service outages affect core subscription features

- Include your account email and reason for refund
- We will process your request within 5-7 business days
- Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method
5.4 Refund Limitations
Refunds may be denied if:
- Your account has been terminated for Terms of Service violations
- You have previously received multiple refunds
- Fraudulent activity is suspected
- The request is made outside the applicable refund window
6. Free Trials
6.1 Trial Availability
We may offer free trial periods for subscription plans at our discretion. Trial availability varies by:
- Platform (iOS, Android, Web)
- Geographic region
- Promotional periods
- New vs. returning subscribers
6.2 Trial Terms
When a free trial is available:
- Trial length will be clearly disclosed before you subscribe (typically 7 or 14 days)
- You must provide a valid payment method to start a trial
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- Full subscription features are available during the trial
6.3 Trial Conversion
- Your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial
- You will be charged the full subscription price unless you cancel before the trial ends
- To avoid charges, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial expires
- Unused trial time is forfeited upon cancellation
6.4 Trial Limitations
- Free trials are limited to one per user per subscription tier
- Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials is prohibited
- We reserve the right to revoke trials obtained through fraudulent means
7. Subscription Features and Access
7.1 Feature Availability
- Subscription features are available immediately upon successful payment
- Some features may require app updates to access
- Feature availability may vary by platform
- We may add new features to subscription tiers at any time
7.2 Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for subscription features. However:
- Scheduled maintenance may temporarily affect availability
- We will provide advance notice for planned maintenance when possible
- Subscription time is not extended for brief outages
7.3 Feature Changes
We reserve the right to modify subscription features:
- New features may be added at no extra cost
- Features may be moved between tiers with 30 days notice
- We will not remove core features without offering an alternative or refund
8. Subscription Sharing
8.1 Guide Tier Party Sharing
Guide tier subscribers can share their subscription benefits with party members:

8.2 How Party Sharing Works
- When a Guide subscriber creates or joins a party, premium features become available to all party members
- Party members receive access only while actively in the party session
- If the subscriber leaves the party, premium features are no longer available to remaining members
- Party members do not retain premium access outside of party sessions
8.3 Sharing Limitations
- One subscription benefits one active party at a time
- Subscription sharing does not extend to the subscriber's friends list
- Individual features (profile badges, extended character slots) remain exclusive to the subscriber
- Abuse of sharing features may result in subscription termination
8.4 Family Sharing
- iOS Family Sharing and Google Play Family Library are not supported for Age of Aeternus subscriptions
- Each user requiring individual premium features needs their own subscription
9. Changes to Subscription Terms
9.1 Notification of Changes
We may update these Subscription Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting updated terms with a new "Last Updated" date
- Sending an email to your registered address
- Displaying an in-app notification
- For significant changes, requiring acknowledgment before renewal
9.2 Effect of Changes
- Changes take effect on the date specified in the notice
- Continued use of subscription services after changes constitutes acceptance
- If you do not agree to changes, you may cancel before they take effect
- Changes will not affect the current billing period retroactively
10. Account and Subscription Issues
10.1 Payment Failures
If your payment fails:
- We will attempt to process the payment again within 24-48 hours
- You will receive an email notification about the failed payment
- Your subscription remains active during a grace period (typically 3-7 days)
- If payment cannot be processed after the grace period, your subscription will be suspended
10.2 Restoring Purchases
If you need to restore your subscription:
iOS:
- Open Age of Aeternus
- Navigate to Settings > Account > Manage Subscriptions
- Tap "Restore Purchases"
Android:
- Ensure you are signed in with the Google account used for purchase
- Open Age of Aeternus
- Navigate to Settings > Account > Manage Subscriptions
- Tap "Restore Purchases"
Web:
- Web subscriptions are automatically linked to your account and should restore upon login
10.3 Subscription Not Working
If your subscription features are not working:
- Verify your subscription is active in your device settings
- Try restoring purchases (see above)
- Log out and log back into Age of Aeternus

12. Legal Notices
12.1 Relationship to Terms of Service
These Subscription Terms are part of and subject to our Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Subscription Terms and the Terms of Service, these Subscription Terms shall govern with respect to subscription-related matters.
12.2 Governing Law
These Subscription Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.3 Dispute Resolution
Disputes relating to subscriptions are subject to the dispute resolution provisions in our Terms of Service, including the informal resolution requirement and class action waiver (where applicable).
12.4 Severability
If any provision of these Subscription Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
